Which PROMOrx Journal is Right For You?

The Problem: How do you decide if you should spend a little more and put your company logo on a Moleskine journal, invest in a Journal Box Set, or purchase the Diplomat Journal? There are pros and cons for each choice. I'm Jill Pohl, PROMOrx Marketing Specialist and I’ll give you the information you need to decide. Items pictured below from left: Moleskine, Bookbound, and Diplomat Journals.

Your Choices:

Moleskine JournalYou’ve seen them at Barnes & Noble. You’ve wondered if they were worth the extra money. This hardback, lined journal gives you a lot of bang for your buck, in our opinion. The journal feels sturdy and substantial, like you’ve gotten something great quality. The binding is not very visible when you open it, and it lays flat on your desk for easy writing. All 3 journals have the same core features: a silky bookmark, elastic outer band, and expanding back pocket. Company branding available on all journal covers.

Bookbound Journal Gift Set

The journal included in this gift set feels cheaper than the Moleskine one. It has all of the same features of the Moleskine, but the pages are much lighter and the binding is more obvious. It feels like something that might not hold up to too much abuse, but it’s still a solid choice. We love that the pen included in the gift set attaches to the edge of the book, securely, so you can’t easily loose it. It’s a bit wider than the Moleskine, which some would consider an advantage. It’s the largest of the 3 Moleskine-style journals.

The gift set is ideal for anyone looking for extra storage for their papers. The journal comes in a gift box that’s sturdy and reusable as a sort of portfolio for papers. It has its own elastic band and bookmark; just remove the foam protector and put it to work!

There are more branding opportunities with this choice. Your company name/logo can go on the front of the box, on the front of the journal, and on the pen.

Front of Bookbound Journal, Inner Pages of Bookbound Journal

The pen included in this gift set is a “dupe” of the Moleskine brand pen. It looks almost identical, but writes more like a ballpoint pen. They both have a rubberized finish.

Diplomat Journal

This one feels the cheapest, which is not to say it’s a bad product. It’s slightly wider than the Moleskine, and its pages are sturdier and thicker than the Bookbound Journal. The binding is the least high quality. It’s very visible, but the pages still seem relatively secure. It does not lay as flat as the other two journals, but offers all of the same features as the Moleskine and Bookbound journals.
