EARTH DAY HISTORY

A US Senator from Wisconsin,Gaylord Nelson, is credited as the Earth Day founder and was honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom...the highest honor given to civilians here in the US.
But it was April 22, 1970 before the first official recognition nationwide.
